The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced that its offices across Pakistan will remain open over the weekend on May 23 and 24, 2026, to support taxpayers and streamline the collection of taxes and duties.
According to the announcement, all major tax offices, including Large Taxpayers’ Offices (LTOs), Medium Taxpayers’ Offices (MTOs), Corporate Tax Offices (CTOs), and Regional Tax Offices (RTOs), will function as regular working days during the weekend.
The decision has been taken to make it easier for taxpayers to complete their payments and related tax procedures without facing delays. By extending office operations to Saturday and Sunday, the FBR aims to provide additional time for individuals and businesses to meet their tax obligations conveniently.
Officials believe that keeping offices open on the weekend will help improve revenue collection while also reducing the burden on taxpayers who may find it difficult to visit offices during regular weekdays.
The move comes as part of the FBR’s broader efforts to enhance tax administration and improve facilitation services for the public. Taxpayers have been advised to take advantage of the extended working days to complete pending tax payments and documentation on time.
The FBR has urged all concerned taxpayers to cooperate and ensure timely compliance to avoid last-minute issues or penalties.
